Services
Everything a career needs, handled by people you know.
Representation is only part of what we do. Below is what working with Hockey Advisors actually brings.
Representation
Contract negotiation
We negotiate terms with clubs on the player's behalf, explain every clause in plain language and make sure nothing is signed that isn't understood.
Transfers and moves
Finding the right club at the right level, at the right moment — including the administrative side of moving between countries and leagues.
Club and coach communication
We stay in contact with clubs and coaching staff throughout the season, so problems are discussed before they become decisions.
Career advisory
Career planning
A realistic plan for the next season and the years after it: level, role, playing time and the development the player needs to earn them.
Honest market feedback
What clubs are actually saying, what the player's current market is and what would have to change to move it.
Long-term guidance
Decisions about school, military service, injuries, retirement and life after hockey are part of the same conversation.
Development support
Conditioning and skills
Off-ice conditioning and individual skill work with the fitness professionals in our network.
Nutrition
Practical nutrition guidance for players who are growing, travelling or managing a heavy game schedule.
Mentoring
Access to experienced former professionals who have lived through the same decisions the player is facing.
Education & international
Study and hockey abroad
Combining hockey with education in North America, through our certified partners, for players who want both.
North American pathway
Working with our counterpart in Canada for players whose development points across the Atlantic.
Financial security
Introductions to advisors on insurance, income planning and protecting earnings during and after a career.
Care through the season
Medical care
When an injury happens, we look for the fastest possible route to an examination, an MRI scan and a specialist for the specific problem.
Skating and skills coach
Individual on-ice work with our skating and skills coach throughout the season.
Goaltending support
Goaltenders can go through their performances with goalie coaches during the season.
Game video
Players receive video from their games so they can review their own performance.
Language support abroad
For players abroad we mediate communication between the club and the player in the language of the country.
Full information
The player knows which clubs he has been offered to, what the feedback is and what we are working on right now.
Financial and health security
Managing finances
Access to a company that looks after players' finances and income planning.
Sports health insurance
Access to a company arranging the health and injury insurance a professional athlete needs.
North American representation
For players heading across the Atlantic we work with an NHLPA certified agent and an NCAA certified agent.
How the cooperation runs
Three routes, one approach
Young player and family
- 01We get in touch and find out whether the player already has an agent.
- 02A phone call and then a meeting with the player and both parents.
- 03We explain what we offer and why we chose this player.
- 04We answer every question from the family and the player.
- 05We go through what the representation agreement contains.
- 06After signing, the player has access to the full care of the agency.
Experienced player
- 01A call about what the player wants and which league he is aiming for.
- 02We offer the player to the clubs that fit that goal.
- 03We keep him informed about where he is offered and what the feedback is.
- 04We negotiate the contract and the conditions.
- 05The player signs with the club once he is satisfied with the terms.
- 06The cooperation continues through the whole season.
Coach
- 01A call about the coach's goals, experience and languages.
- 02We offer the coach to clubs where that profile fits.
- 03We keep him informed about the responses.
- 04We negotiate the contract and the conditions.
- 05The coach signs with the club once he is satisfied.
- 06We stay in contact and support him during the engagement.
Questions we hear most often
The questions people ask us
- How does the cooperation start?
- With a call and then a personal meeting. There is no commitment attached to the first conversation.
- Who will look after me?
- The person who represents you. You have his phone number and you speak to him directly, not to an assistant.
- How often do we speak?
- Whenever it is needed — and always in the pre-season period and around club decisions. The player knows where he is offered and what the responses are.
- What does the fee cover?
- We explain the scope of services and the fee openly before signing, so nothing comes as a surprise later.
- How do you help choose a club?
- We look at the sporting role, the coach, the room to develop and the financial terms — and we say honestly when an offer is not a good fit.
- How does support work during the season?
- We stay in contact with the player and the club, and the player has access to conditioning, skills, nutrition, medical care and mentoring.
